Internet professional services firm US Interactive is to partner with Pandesic LLC, the internet joint venture between Intel and SAP. US Interactive spokesperson James DeLorenzo says the initial impetus behind the partnership was a single USI customer – a major athletic apparel and footwear company – who wanted a Pandesic SAP-on-the-internet solution. DeLorenzo is confident other customers will follow that company’s lead. Pandesic’s is an easily adaptable solution and very cost-effective, he reasons, since it doesn’t need to be rewritten from scratch for each customer. On the other hand, SAP has traditionally called for armies of consultants and installation times in the tens of months. Little wonder that the world’s professional services firms have taken the software so much to heart.
