US West International Inc, Vartelecom, VEC Technology and United Telecom said they formed a Russian joint stock company, United Telecom Pacific, to implement cellular communications systems in Russia’s Primorskii Krai: it will acquire rights to the 900GHz GSM digital cellular licence for the Primorskii Krai issued to United Telecom in December and provide local cellular services in the licence territory of the Russian port cities of Vladivostok and Nakhodka, and chemical and petrochemical producing, fishing and forestry areas in the Krai in the third quarter of 1994 along with interconnection to intercity and international networks through its partners’ networks.
