US TO ASK COCOM TO EASE RESTRICTIONS OF EXPORT FROM CHINA

The US reckons that the People’s Republic of China has now stopped selling Silkworm missiles to Iran, and is therefore ready to recommend to CoCom that restrictions on exports of computer and telecommunications equipment there be eased: the liberalisation process was brought to a halt five months ago.
