In a development that seems set to hand the $25,000m, 10-year FTS2000 US government network contract to AT&T Co with Boeing Co and Martin-Marietta Corp with MCI Communications Inc on a 60:40 basis, US Sprint Communications and Electronic Data Systems have parted company a second time, reportedly over how the profits would be split. US Sprint is expected to bid on its own, but bids have to be in by March 31, which gives it little time. The only other declared contenders are AT&T and Marietta. The contract is now due to be awarded by December.
