US Sprint Communications Co has introduced a package of telecommunications services for physicians, hospitals, clinics and insurers called HANDS, the Healthcare Application Network Delivery System: based on US Sprint’s fibre network, it has 800 number services, dial-up video transmission and billing systems; SunHealth and US Sprint have signed a three-year contract allowing SunHealth hospit-als and affiliates access to HANDS; part of the new Healthcare Application Network Delivery System, is a service that will enable radiologists to transmit medical images for the cost of a long distance phone call; it says that diagnostic-quality images can be sent in around 37 seconds when multiple 56Kbps lines are used.
