US SEMICONDUCTOR INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION TO SPEND $70 – 80M ON MANUFACTURING AND PROCESSING EQUIPMENT – SOME OVERSEAS

The US Semiconductor Industry Association proposes to spend $70m to $80m of the $250m it wants annually for its proposed Sematech chip technology development and proving co-operative on manufacturing and processing equipment – some of which is likely to have to be spent abroad, says Electronic News.
