US SEMICONDUCTOR BOOK-TO-BILL RATIO FALLS TO 1.09 FROM 1.15 IN JULY

By CBR Staff Writer

The book-to-bill ratio slipped to 1.09 from 1.15 in July, the Semiconductor Industry Association reports, putting the decline down to energetic shipments to meet backlogged orders, coupled with the traditional summer slowdown. Even so, shipments in July were down 11.15% at $1,110m compared with the June figure – the fall being put down to the fact that July covered only four working weeks, June, five. Average monthly orders for the three month period ending in July totalled $1,260m, which was a mere 0.7% down on the three months to June.
