US Robotics Corp has a 33.6Kbps Ethernet Modem PC Card, designed for Apple Powerbooks. The XJAEM3336 PC Card combines a cellular- capable modem with a 10BASE-T Ethernet connection, giving users the ability to access local area networks, the Internet, and corporate intranets. It also offers a cellular-capable 33.6Kbps modem – with Digital Line Guard, ETC error correction and cellular direct connect and a 10BASE-T Ethernet port. The Card also comes with USR’s FaxAction software to send, receive, save and manage faxes. A trial version of the software is available on the US Robotics Web site at www.usr.com/mobileusr with an estimated selling price for the new XJAEM3336 at $350.
