US ROBOTICS ANNOUNCES FAX MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

US Robotics Inc of Skokie, Chicago, has unveiled FAX server, a communications product, including facsimile management software, which is said to attach directly to a local area network to enable users send and receive facsimile messages from their personal computers. FAX server is said to offer 14,400bps speeds and supports industry standards V.17, V.29 and V.27ter, Group III, Class 1. The product is aimed at Novell Inc NetWare users and enables facsimile messages to be sent from MS-DOS or Windows. Currently only available for Ethernet networks, a Token Ring version is to be released in three to four weeks. Ethernet FAX server is available now but no prices were given.
