Details of Laguna, Apple Computer Inc’s forthcoming lap-top version of the Macintosh, have been leaked to Macintosh Today magazine in the US, which reportedly says that the new machine will weigh around 12 lbs and will use an active matrix screen flat-panel screen technology rather than liquid crystal diode, on the ground that it handles graphics better than do LCDs. The machine will be built around a 68HC000 – a CMOS version of the 68000 – with 1Mb of memory. The magazine also reportedly says the machine will cost about $6,000: that sounds much too much for a 68000 lap-top, even if it is a Mac.
