US INFORMATION LACK

Yes there was a distinct lack of hard news from the US yesterday, especially for a Tuesday – even the IBM information distribution network crashed in sympathy with the state of Massachusetts, which is now stuck with Mike Dukakis, who is not likely to have been IBM’s choice for the top job (and in whom running mate Lloyd Bentsen had such faith that he stood for re-election as one of the two Texas senators just in case) – but then a lot of them well 53% or so – were otherwise occupied deciding by a fair margin that George Bush was a fit person to wear the mantle of most powerful man in the free world.
