US GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION CONTRACTS PASSED TO AT&T

The upshot of the nefarious backstairs activity in the award by the US General Services Administration of seven government contracts for supply of $55m of digital telephone exchanges is that four of the contracts originally awarded to three of the Baby Bells – two to BellSouth, one each to Bell Atlantic and Pacific Telesis – have been passed to AT&T Co by the General Services Administration board of appeals after AT&T protested that GSA officials gave its competitors key details of its secret tenders.
