United States Cellular Corp has sold its cellular systems in five states to cellular competitor AirTouch Communications Inc, for $206.9m in shares and $50m in cash. Airtouch, a US based, international cellular operator, is buying operations in Washington, Arizona, Minnesota, Colorado and Ohio. The deal also resolves litigation between USCC and US West Media Group Inc, as US West is in the process of selling its cellular company PrimeCo Personal Communications to Airtouch in a deal worth $5bn (CI No 3,144).
