CSC, a provider of technology-enabled offerings and services, has been awarded a $33m task order under the General Services Administration’s Schedule 70 contract to provide software development services to the US Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).

The task order has one-year base period and four one-year options.

Under the agreement, CSC, along with subcontractor Helpdesk Response, will provide information technology and software development services to the VA’s Financial Services Center (FSC).

In addition, the company will also analyse, develop, test, implement and maintain the software for the VA FSC.

CSC North American public sector civil and health services group president Mike Gaffney said the company’s expertise and experience in software development will allow the Department of Veteran Affairs to reduce product development cycles, bring new applications online quickly and migrate smoothly to an optimised and cost-effective environment.

"Helpdesk Response brings a 15-year working relationship with the VA and a proven track record with the Financial Services Center for software development that will ensure a successful implementation of our contract," Gaffney said.
