The UnixWare Technology Group has participated in an initial meeting of the Advisory Board of UnixWare Users Exchange, the emerging group for UnixWare users that has been incubating at Novell Inc. The UnixWare Users Exchange board has put any decisions on ice until details of the Santa Cruz Operation Inc-Novell relationship become clearer, but said it is ready to work with Santa Cruz and OpenServer users. Santa Cruz has apparently indicated a willingness to work with the technology group through the transition period and beyond. Indeed, it will host a board meeting of the group later this month where the two are expected to negotiate a formal relationship similar to the one the group has with Novell. A UnixWare Technology Group Members’ meet and briefings of the group’s Japan council and other interested organisations will follow.
