AT&T Co’s Unix Software Operation has signed an agreement with NetWise Inc, Boulder, Colorado, with the aim of defining a new series of standard object classes to ensure the interoperability of AT&T’s C++ language and NetWise’s RPC Tool, making it easier for C++ programmers to develop object-orientated applications for different types of networks. The two will develop C++ to generate Remote Procedure Call source code. RPC Tool will then accept this input and generate communications code, helping programmers to manage object-oriented operations across these networks. Along with Sun Microsystems and Novell Inc, Netwise has submitted its technology for consideration by the Open Software Foundation’s Distributed Computing Environment Request for Technology.
