Cdigix was employed in response to growing demand from students at the two California state systems.
Cdigix will be a valuable partner for campuses instituting online entertainment programs because of its wide range of content and services, its exclusive focus on the college marketplace, and its proven track record working with premier universities across the nation, said David Walker, director of advanced technology for the University of California.
Cdigix’ offerings include a digital music library, called Ctrax, which was developed through a partnership with digital music service provider MusicNet. Its Ctrax2Go service, which s expected to launch in Q3 this year, enables Ctrax music subscribers to transfer an unlimited number of downloads to a compatible portable music player.
The company also offers Cflix, which provides video on-demand programming from media companies including Walt Disney Pictures and ESPN; an educational media platform, Clabs, for the online distribution of educational media and Cvillage, the company’s outlet for campus media distribution and social interaction.
Cdigix has also revealed new school contracts with Henderson State University and Lyon College in Arkansas, Thomas College in Maine and the University of Maryland.
