UNIVERSITY COLLEGE CARDIFF AND UNIVERSITY OF WALES INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CREATE SEMICONDUCTOR AND MICROELECTRONICS CENTRE

University College, Cardiff, and the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology have created a Semiconductor and Microelectronics Centre, intended to strengthen greatly British university research into the new raw materials that will be the basis of the next generation of integrated circuits: the centre was opened with a pump-priming grant of $445,000 from the Welsh Development Agency and the Cardiff City, South Glamorgan and Mid Glamorgan local authorities.
