Over the next nine months, Indian IT services company Infosys will provide the frameworks, methodologies, and tools that form its Legacy Modernization service to help the UK utilities company revamp its Operations Management System along SOA lines.

Providing better customer service is one of the key aims behind the push toward SOA, according to Mike Naden, IS services director at United Utilities.

Ensuring regulatory compliance and improving customer service starts with improving back-end systems, he said.

Infosys will be involved from the initial design of the system through to development and migration of the OMS to the new SOA platform.
