UNIT4 Business Software, the UK division of UNIT4, a provider of ERP offerings, has introduced VITA Cloud Angel, which offers a versatile option for businesses looking to leverage the cost/time-saving benefits of cloud computing.
The company claims that the new subscription-based deployment offering supports the Agresso Business World line of ERP computing and allows Agresso Business World users to gain additional versatility for evolving requirements around hardware infrastructure, data and processing locations, industry-specific deployment needs and shared service requirements.
The VITA Cloud Angel also provides rapidly deployed offerings across four industry sectors, professional services, non-profit/charity businesses, healthcare services and education, with each of these 80% pre-built templates are mapped to industry requirements.
According to UNIT4, the VITA Cloud Angel has a shared service option for industry partners and associates, and offers multiple hardware deployment choices that allow businesses to migrate between on- and off-premises environments. It also includes Intel-Agent Data Privacy feature that provides a set of administrator-only controls for maximum data/application protection.
UNIT4 said that IT operations of VITA Cloud Angel will be managed by its Hybrid Computing Center which provides Agresso Business World customers with a single point of contact; service level agreements; a centralised provisioning/reporting center; end user IT support and telephone/e-mail and self-service portal support.
The virtual, high availability of these operations enable all components within a data centre to be switched within seconds in the event of a problem, while fibre-optic lines provide an additional monitoring layer to provide immediate combined fail-over and data recovery, the company claims.
Ton Dobbe, vice president of product management/marketing for UNIT4, said: "The Agresso Business World ERP suite protects mid-market companies that reorganise and restructure more often, that acquire/merge more regularly, that are more challenged by compliance issues than other businesses and that are under greater regulatory pressures than other industries."
