Also in the works for next week is a new member in the Unisys Corp 1100 OS mainframe family to succeed the 1100/70 and provide an upgrade path for the mass of virgin users that Sperry won with the 1100/60, slotting between the 2200 at the bottom end and the 1100/94 at the top: according to Electronic News, the new CPU will use an upgrade of the CMOS processor in the 2200, and should be 2.5 times as powerful.
