UNISYS TO CLOSE EAGAN

By CBR Staff Writer

Unisys Corp has, as expected (CI No 615), given up hope of finding a buyer for Sperry’s Eagan, Minnesota CMOS and bipolar chip development and manufacturing plant, and will close it by the end of the year. Essential work done at Eagan will move to the Burroughs chip shop in Rancho Bernardo, California, with about 100 Eagan employees. Unisys will try to find other work for the other 800 Eagan employees, and intends to move other operations into the facility as chips move out.
