Unisys Corp has signed a marketing agreement with Cambridge, UK billing developer Geneva Technology Ltd (GTL) to market its product portfolio. GTL’s Geneva products will complement Unisys’ existing telecom services expertise in call centers, value added services and network information systems.
Gareth Lewis, head of Unisys’ billing program, said the company does a lot of business with incumbent telcos with legacy billing systems in which they have invested considerable sums. ‘We recognize that we must provide solutions which allow them to migrate gradually to new products,’ he said, they may want to introduce a third generation billing and rating system to handle new services but continue to use existing rating software for other parts of their business. Geneva’s flexible component approach allows us to do just that.
