Unisys Corp chairman James Unruh told analysts that revenues would likely be flat at $8,300m this year, but that the company expects to achive strong earnings gains over last year’s $1.06 per share, saying he was not uncomfortable with targets of between $1.20 and $1.40 per share before extraordinary items; sales will be kept flat by US Defense Department cutbacks and weak demand in foreign markets, which account for some 51% of the company’s businessl; the company will continue cutting costs through 1993 and expects its worldwide staff to be reduced by 1,000 to 2,000 people from the 54,000 or so it employed at the end of 1992.
