UNISYS PLANS TO SHIP X500 DIRECTORY SERVICES SOFTWARE

Unisys Corp plans to start shipping X500 OSI Directory Services software for its U Series Unix machines next month and has opened Open Systems Interconnection conformance laboratories in Malvern, Pennsylvania and Kelsterbach, West Germany: X500 is the worldwide directory for X400-conformant electronic mail systems, intended eventually to enable anyone on any X400 network to address anyone else on the same or another network via a unique directory address, and Unisys is also developing X500 Directory products for its BTOS/CTOS workstations and for OS1100 and A Series mainframes; the Directory System Agent package for Unix is $2,000 to $9,000, Directory User Agent, $700 to $3,000.
