UNISYS HAS CONTRACT FROM NORTH WESTERN ELECTRICITY BOARD

Unisys Corp’s strategy of making the B25 series of networked systems compatible with ICL’s Series 39 mainframes has paid off with a contract worth over UKP4m to supply the Manchester-based North Western Electricity Board with terminal cluster systems for its 90 shops involved in a project to provide flexible retail sales resources and cash payment facilities: over 300 B25 workstations will be installed in the shops to undertake tasks including payment of quarterly accounts and cash and carry sales; the B25s will be linked to an ICL host using the Unisys co existence products.
