UNISYS HAS $20M+ ORDER FROM FERRANTI INTERNATIONAL CONTROLS

One of the further outposts of the Ferranti empire, Ferranti International Controls, a manufacturer of energy management systems for electric utilities based in Sugar Land, Texas, is spending big with Unisys Corp for 1100 series mainframes: it has ordered machines worth more than $20m, comprising one of the new 2200/200 midframe computers, to will be used for energy management by the city of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two 1100/91s, one 1100/93, one 1100/92SV, and an 1100/72 for software development.
