The size of the deal was not disclosed, but it is global in scope and will see Unisys use its offshore delivery centers in Budapest and Bangalore to support Ciba’s operations in Europe, the Americas, and Asia, including helpdesk services in nine different languages.
Unisys will provide infrastructure services including desktop management and support and data center operation, as well as SAP applications management. The contract is another example of multi-sourcing, with Unisys sharing the work with Swisscom IT Services to handle data center and SAP services in Ciba’s native Swiss market.
Ciba Speciality Chemicals announced a separate deal with BT Group in April 2007 for global IP telephony services across 120 countries.
