Unisys Corp says it is considering building a personal computer assembly plant in Japan in order to expand sales of the things in the local market, a spokesman for Nippon Unisys Ltd said on Monday. Details of the new plant, including the location, level of investment and production volume have not yet been decided, he said. Unisys currently sells 30,000 personal computers for the office annually in Japan. They currently all come from its plant in San Jose, California. It says that it aims to strengthen personal computer sales both in Japan and elsewhere in Asia by establishing the assembly operation in Japan.
