Unisys Corp is celebrating endorsement in the airline world of its 1100 line by All Nippon Airways, which has ordered eight 1100 mainframes and 28 DCP-50 communications processors to create a fully integrated airline information system: the $390m system will include two 1100/92s for reservations, ticketing and check in, two 1100/91s as front-end processors, two 1100/73s for flight control and testing and two 1100/72s for cargo and testing; eight of the communications CPUs will be used as front-ends, 18 as concentrators, and two for testing.
