The US and UK patent offices have both awarded computer contracts in recent days: Unisys Corp is to get $22m over an eight year period for an A15JX mainframe and associated equipment from the US Department of Commerce’s Patent and Trademark Office in Arlington, Virginia, while Computer Sciences Corp’s UK subsidiary will receive up to UKP3m for managing the ICL Series 39 lev-el 80 mainframe and DRS 300-based Department of Trade and Industry’s Online Patent and Trademark Integrated Computer System in London.
