UNISYS ADDS TWO 1100-90 MODELS, CUTS TAGS

By CBR Staff Writer

Unisys Corp yesterday added two new 1100/90 mainframe models and cut prices on the line. The two new entry level 1100/90 Model II SVs are the 1100/91 and /92 Model II SV, offering better price performance over early entry SVs; they are out now. The single processor 91 is $1.429m, 29% cheaper than its predecessor, and the dual 92 is 18% cheaper at $2.6m. And an across-the-board 10% cut has been made on purchase, rental and extended leases for the Model II line of one-to-four processor systems introduced last year. Separately, Unisys said that it had completed acquisition of Timeplex Inc, now part of Unisys Networks.
