Unisys Corp has new hardware and software for banks and other financial institutions, led by the DP 1000 high-speed document processor at $83,000 from next quarter. The S40 entry-level desktop document processor costs from $27,000 including B26 workstation and printer from September. The Item Processing System software, written for the V series of mid-range mainframe successors to the B29-39-4900 family, has been converted to run on the A series (B59-69-7900 successors) from next quarter, at from $23,000 a year on the entry A1 model to $63,000 on the mid range A6.
