Unisys said that its German subsidiary has been awarded a seven-year contract extension with its partner, Henkel AG KGaA, to deliver IT services to 38,000 employees worldwide.
Under the extended contract, which runs from 2013 to 2019, Unisys will continue to provide service desk, service-request management and end-point security services to Henkel at reduced costs.
Unisys, which unveiled a desktop virtualisation suite called Workspace as a Service in May 2013, said the contract also includes infrastructure services, applications management, identity management and end-to-end service management for Henkel’s multi-vendor environment.
Ron Frankenfield, president at Unisys global managed services, said: "By transitioning support for Henkel’s end-users to our global service centers we standardised the company’s IT services and met its goals for cost savings and improved productivity.
"Now we’re embarking on the next phase – to enhance the value we deliver to Henkel’s end-users all over the world while streamlining management of the company’s operational infrastructure."
Uwe Wirtz, head of global infrastructure at Henkel, added: "Unisys’ services have enabled us keep Henkel employees continually productive and transform our business."
