Uniplex Ltd, London has a stand-alone electronic mail system called Uniplex Mail, based on the widely used electronic mail component of its Business Software and supporting anywhere from four users to hundreds of servers, it says. It can work across mixed Unix minis, workstations and character or X terminals. It’s able to work with WordPerfect Editor and supports ASCII and X Window concurrently. It includes a scheduling system, productivity tools and encryption. Support starts with Santa Cruz Operation Inc Unix, RS/6000s and AViiON machines. Price per user is $225 for four users; $200 for eight; $175 for 16; and $150 for more than 64. It provides a gateway to an X400-compliant mail system via Hewlett-Packard Co’s Open Mail, and other SMTP systems.
