Computer Associates International Inc has beat the Street again, posting second-quarter net income that rose 22% to $271.9m on revenue up 13% at $1.12bn. Earnings per share for the quarter grew to $0.72, edging out First Call’s estimates of $0.69. The company says the strong results are down to the continued success of its Unicenter TNG network management software. It expects the momentum to pick up with the launch of the Unicenter Framework initiative, launched during the quarter, and the recent release of Unicenter TNG version 2.1 – which adds support for IPX network management and DMTF/DMI 2.0 standards. CA also announced Tuesday that its board has declared a three-for-two stock split, payable November 26 to stockholders of record on November 5. Six-month net income rose 25% to $427.6m on revenue up 13% at $2.01bn. Earnings per share rose 27% to $1.14 for the six-months.
