Marietta, Georgia-based UniComp Inc’s Northern Irish subsidiary companies Unibol Ltd and CI Computer Software Ltd have joined forces in the mid range IBM products and services market. The two companies will trade under the Unibol name out of offices in Belfast, paying particular attention to GO2000, the product designed to sort out the year 2000 date change problem. Unibol’s managing director Ian Graham said he is confident that the newly formed company, which has offices in Atlanta, Georgia and Dallas, Texas, will grow as the millennium approaches. Unibol has just signed a deal worth $3m with DHL Worldwide Express to install GO2000, and Graham says there are several more in the process of completion. The merger with CI was a logical step to take, said Graham, with both businesses complimenting each other. Unibol still has its System 36 and AS/400 migration software.
