Tandem Computers Inc’s Ungermann-Bass subsidiary in Santa Clara, California has formed a joint venture with SoftBank Corp of Tokyo, NetPro Consulting Corp, designed to provide support, training and research and development for the Japanese local network market, focusing on Novell Inc and Microsoft Corp server products: SoftBank will resell Ungermann-Bass products and NetPro will provide support of multi-vendor networking products, a telephone hotline service, end-user training and seminars, and a network environment for testing kit; SoftBank will have 60% of NetPro, Ungermann-Bass will have a 35% and System Bank KK and NetWay KK will share the balance of the equity.
