Taiwan computer manufacturer Umax Data Systems Inc says its 1996 revenue soared 72.6% to $229m. In December alone, Umax posted sales revenues of $33.6m, up 117%. but gave no profit figures but hopes that 1997 sales will exceed $364m, the company said. It expects its image scanners to maintain a 40% growth in 1997 on rising global demand, and new products, based on Apple Computer Inc’s Macintosh series, to enjoy good growth in 1997.
