Ulead Systems Inc, the Torrance, California based developer of imaging, video and internet software, has announced Ulead Photo Assistant 1.0, a photo acquisition and editing product for business applications. Photo Assistant integrates its tools into Microsoft Office and other productivity applications by adding a new Photo menu and toolbar so users get direct access to capturing images from a scanner or digital camera. For photo enhancement, Photo Assistant offers a set of processing and retouching tools. Users can crop and straighten, change color balance, adjust brightness and contrast, remove red-eye and select from special effects filters and photo frame styles. The product costs $29.95.
