UK value-added reseller and developer of imaging products Active Imaging Plc is currently developing additions to its range of cameras to add to the MyVision camera with a chip inside and the s2200 and Snapper image acquisition boards. Its InVision camera technology is mainly used for traffic management and is on trial at the moment in Houston, Texas. It has received an order for the InVision camera from Alcatel Inc worth $490,000 subject to approval from the State of Texas, and a US national laboratory has placed a prototype order for MyVision products to ensure the correct focus of laser beams. If that program goes ahead, the company reckons that it could result in orders for more than 1,000 cameras over the next 18 months.
