UK TELCOM DIRECTOR RELAXES MERCURY COMMUNICATIONS LICENSE

UK Director General of Telecommunications Don Cruickshank on Friday relaxed the license of Mercury Communications Ltd, saying that he had lifted a number of restrictions that date back to 1984, bringing Mercury’s licence further into line with those of other non-dominant operators. The regulator will continue to prevent anti-competitive behaviour, but is moving away from detailed prescriptive regulation.
