The UK’s new Open Systems exhibition, originally set to take place later this month, has been re-scheduled to the end of the year, and will be held at Olympia 2 for three days from November 1. Open Systems ’89 is now being organised and promoted by Cahners Exhibitions, Richmond in Surrey, which claims that companies such as Unisys, Motorola, Prime, Oracle, Santa Cruz Operation and Honeywell Bull have already expressed an interest in attending the show. Although the UK already has an annual Unix event in June – East Midland Allied Press Plc’s European Unix User Show at Alexandra Palace – Cahners says that its show will specifically address multi-vendor integration, including networking and communications, and will be of particular relevance as 1992 and the Single European Market initiative gathers momentum. A conference will run concurrently with the show.
