UK NHS PLANS TO INTRODUCE ELECTRONIC DATA INTERCHANGE INTO ITS OFFICES

By CBR Staff Writer

The UK National Health Service is planning to introduce electronic data interchange into its offices to reduce administration costs, simplify reconciliation of invoices, and give greater management control on buying hospital supplies: the first phase of the plan will be to test the ICL-Geisco Tradanet value added network service; Wessex and Mersey Regional Health Autorities will be the first to use Tradanet to swap invoices with pharmaceutical suppliers.
