UK FIRM TELECOM TECHNOLOGY TO GET ITS PHONE SYSTEMS MADE IN CHINA

By CBR Staff Writer

Telecom Technology International Ltd, Eynsham, Oxfordshire has extended the market for its Interconnect 200 telephone systems with a technology transfer agreement in the People’s Republic of China: as part of the deal, the Interconnect 200 systems will be manufactured and sold by a joint venture between a UK firm already established in China and Shandong Radio. Undaunted by the fact that Telecom Technology is in headlong competition with the likes of L M Ericsson Telefon AB and Siemens AG, export director Peter Parmella reckons that the Interconnect 200 systems are ideal for third world markets because the system processor, trunk and extension lines are all on a single board, making expansion simply a matter of adding another board. Further deals are expected in Eastern Europe shortly.
