UK facsimile installations are expected to exceed 1,000 per working day in 1989, with 300,000 forecast to be installed by the year end, reports the British Facsimile Industry Consultative Committee; during 1988, the installed base of fax machines grew to 370,000 from 173,000, making the UK the largest market in Europe – the postal helped a whole lot, with sales quadrupling during the dispute.
