UK Contract Gain From CIMA

COMPANY PRESS RELEASE: Dicom Group plc announces that it has won a UK contract worth approximately GBP245,000 for phase 1 of a new project from CIMA (the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), the professional membership and examining body for management accountants worldwide.

The order is to re-design and implement a new student registration form and associated documentation and is the first to be secured by Dicom from CIMA. It is also the first to be won by the Group’s newly formed Consulting Division, one of three operations comprising Dicom’s core EDC division, which, in total, accounted for 56% of Group sales in the nine months to 31 March 2000. The other two operations in the EDC Division are Kofax Image Products, Inc. and Component Sales and Services.

The new project will encompass providing solutions for forms design consultancy, a document capture system, forms processing software and a document management system. This will include the re-design and implementation of remittance advice slips, direct debit forms and qualifications. Further phases of the project will include examination entry forms, marking and other associated documentation.

The new system will capture forms from paper and also via an Internet form, with data extracted, populated into and validated against the core membership system.

Full integration is made with the core membership system developed using Netscape and Oracle, with a true thin client front end. The majority of retrievals will be done via the membership system thin client front end and the web server.

Commenting, Otto Schmid, Chief Executive of Dicom Group said: We are delighted to be working on this project with CIMA, which is recognized as the premier organization in the accountancy profession in the UK and in many countries overseas.

This integrated solution is a major strategic project for CIMA and represents a new development in their provision of services to a customer base of 53,000 full members and 76,000 students in 130 countries worldwide. It is part of DICOM’s strategy to move increasingly up the value chain through the provision of added value technology services that are allied to the Group’s core competencies.
