UK COMPANIES WIN US DOMAIN NAME BATTLE

There’s relief in the UK business community after a court ruled in favor of five well-known companies – including Marks and Spencer and Virgin Enterprises – who sued two businessmen who registered their names as domains in the US. With the defendants facing 60,000 pounds in costs, the ruling is likely to deter anyone who plans to make a swift profit by registering a company’s name simple in order to sell it to them at a profit.
