UK AWARDS SIX SATELLICENCES

The UK Department of Trade and Industry has whittled the 27 applicants for licences to offer a UK up-link satellite service down to six licensees: British Aerospace Plc, British Satellite Broadcasting Ltd, Electronic Data Systems UK Ltd, Maxwell Satellite Communications Ltd, Satellite Information Services Ltd and Uplink Ltd have been given the go-ahead to operate single to multi-point broadcast only services.
