By CBR Staff Writer

And Fujitsu Ltd has given its high-speed Fibre Distributed Data Interface specification FSLink local area network, new functions to support connection of other vendor’s machines such as IBM hosts and Sun Microsystems workstations: the interface consists of an adaptor and software and IBM hosts can be connected using Fujitsu’s FLCF, or though a product developed by Japanese company Systems Engineering Services called OCS/LAM, which enables the construction of a 100Mbps local net; Sun workstations can be connected to FSLink via an FDDI/DX controller; Fujitsu hosts, minicomputers, the Sigma workstations and the VP series supercomputers were already supported; Fujitsu also offers a local network integration service for its customers.
